Will Dana White ever be filtered when it comes to his judgement on certain fighter?
Dana White has been out of pocket with certain fighters especially top tier ones like Tyron Woodley, Cris Cyborg, and Demetrius Johnson. Tyron has expressed himself 4 years ago and felt that he wasn’t being promoted enough as champion and even stated he felt “racial tension” in the UFC. Seeing as Woodley defended his title 4 times when he was the respected champion before losing it to current champion Kamaru Usman, you would think that an immediate rematch would be a must but that is not the case. Dana went on the post fight conference and said that “the fight was pretty one sided and that a rematch isn’t necessary.” Tyron was scheduled to fight Robbie Lawler earlier this year but a hand injury forced him to withdraw from the fight.
The fact that Demetrius Johnson was at one point the Pound 4 Pound best fighter in the world but the UFC refused to acknowledge him as it is ludicrous. Since dropping down to Flyweight, Demetrius Johnson has looked every bit of unstoppable and before dropping down the only man to defeat him was then champion Dominick Cruz who had a crazy size advantage over Johnson. Though he is a natural Flyweight, had Dominick Cruz not been in the UFC’s division then Demetrius would’ve ran that division with an iron fist. Demetrius was dominant at Bantamweight because of his faced paced style and sick wrestling skills. There is no debate that he is one of the greatest ever and you can put him right behind Jon “Bones” Jones as greatest of all time debate. Dana White didn’t see it that way and anytime Demetrius Johnson was mentioned Dana would either bash him or side swipe the question and make it about Conor Mcgregor.
Cris Cyborg is probably the most dominant female champion of all time but according to Dana White she is a man. How disrespectful to call someone who helped innovate the sport “Wanderlei Silva in a dress”? Cyborg has expressed her frustration of Dana White and the UFC after her win over Felicia Spencer. She even expressed that her daughter was being bullied in school because of his comments of calling the former Strikeforce and UFC Featherweight Champion a man. May Cris go to an organization that can love and respect her as real fight fans do and promoted as one of the greatest of all time.
